Casa Shalva

about.

Casa Shalva stands as a monolithic statement in Aldea Zama, blending the solidity of brutalist architecture with the warmth of tropical minimalism. The project deconstructs the classic hacienda layout, organizing social and private spaces around a central water feature that cools and connects the home.

The material palette is a study in contrasts: polished grey concrete and local limestone provide a cool, robust foundation, while Tzalam wood accents and hand-woven textiles soften the aesthetic, adding warmth and texture. From the sunken living area to the rooftop sanctuary, every level is designed to frame the jungle views, ensuring that privacy and openness coexist in perfect balance.
